The 2GR is a hoss of a motor. It's also in Avalons, Solaras, Highlanders, Rav4s, Siennas, Venzas, and a whole bunch of "350" Lexus. It's an awesome swap into an MR2, by the by.

MZ engines are pretty "meh" in my opinion. The old 3VZ has way more potential than the 1MZ.
